Rum & Cocommunity

Published on June 17, 2016

Whisky, Grappa, Cognac and Brandy, Rum&Co has it all. Oh, and let's not forget a plethora of great rums.

Rum und Co probaly is Germanies largest online rum retailer. They have great service and a HUGE (as in: astronomical) selection of great sipping rums. Probably the largest offering of rums from Compagnie des Indes in the world. They have a nice range of rum sampling kits as well. Also look out for their own bottlings, as they sometimes have some real gems.

This website has an interesting and inspiring history. More on this can be found in this (German) article.

A Mountain of Crushed Icecommunity

If you're into cocktails, tiki-culture, or rum in general, a Mountain of Crushed Ice is another one of those 'must read' blogs.

With A Mountain of Crushed Ice, author Helena Tiare Olsen has built up a valuable online resource when it comes to fine art of cocktail making.

What really sets this site apart from the others (in our opinion) is that it covers a wide array of subjects, without ever being off topic. The site features anything from reviews and recipes to interviews and photography tips, all rum and cocktail-related ofcourse.

Higly recommended reading.

RhumFest Parisevent

Published on March 30, 2016

Large rum event in Paris, France.

With 2200 professionals, 2700 visitors and 500 rums to sample, Rhumfest Paris is one of the biggest rumfestivals in the world. It’s also very French, so unfortunately their website is of little use for those who don’t know French (or Google Translate). Luckily, there is the Floating Rumshack, who wrote a great preview.

Tickets cost €35 euros for a single day ticket and €60 for a two day ticket.

Master of Maltcommunity

Published on January 30, 2016

Big online retailer with a large selection of rums. Interestingly enough, they also sell some antique bottles, so if you're looking for a bottle of Havanna CLub 15 this might be the place to find it.

Although the nme suggests they only sell whisky, they actually offer a wide range of rums from all over the world. Shipping is fast and worldwide, and their service is good.

Master of Malt also offers a sample service that allows you to try a small 3cl bottles before buying the real thing. Intersting if you’re planning to buy $3000+ bottle of Appleton 50 for example.

(Zumzum) Rum Bar Praguecommunity

Published on October 14, 2015

Possibly the best Rum Bar in Central Europe. A choice of 500+ rums, great cocktails and a dedicated waitress / owner. A must-go if you're in Prague.

It’s right in the city centre, and although it’s small, they have a truly astonishing selection of rums. It’s basically a candystore, with rums ranging from 1995 vintage Vellier Enmore to Wray and Nephews overproof White. They also serve great cocktails, at nice prices. Highly, highly, highly recommended!
